I want to be anywhere but here, I want to go towards new light. I know there is somewhere else, I know I have to find. You will need to forgive, you will need to forget. Long to see in, friends of mine. Fair and feathered, inclement weather brings rain inside my mind. You will need to forgive, you will need to forget.

I was a young cadre. I dreamt of fire incandescent. In pursuit of nothing, because nothing is perfect. I fear the unknown, I fear loss. I should have, I could have, but I was wrong. I fear the unknown, I fear loss. I should have, I could have. Still wrong, still lost. Why did I do what I did to you? Why did I do what I did? I am in your perfect debt. You are my figure eight shaped regret. I was a young cadre. I dreamt of fire incandescent. Can not heal. Can not move on. Why did I do what I did to you? Why did I do what I did? I am in your perfect debt. You are my figure eight shaped regret. Can not.

As above, the sun and the sky The morning bell reminder To seek and you will find I lit a path and I found a way Groped through the darkness afraid Lost or found it’s all the same As above, the sun and the sky The morning bell reminder To seek and you will find Sunrise accelerator Brightness turns blue to white Leave it all behind I lit a path and I found a way Groped through the darkness afraid. Lost or found it’s all the same So below provisional preparation Systems check green The curve of the horizon Slides out of the frame Bluer skies are blackened violets Scattered along the last floating stage The last floating stage

Red flags fly at half mast, flying high by noosed rope What is the color of hope? Red flags fly at half mast, flown by a ghost of a ghost What is the color of hope? Red flags fly at full mast, in my mind and in my home What is the color of hope? Red flags fly at full mast, no change of wind, when I needed it most What is the color of hope? Seeds of doubt in fertile soil, seeds of change planted in sand. Pink elephants parade red flags in flames, ashes and smoke I need help more than hope. Pink elephants and flags begin to fade, as I choke: “I need help more than hope.” Seeds of doubt in fertile soil, seeds of change planted in sand. As the smoke clears I see a minefield of bare flag poles and eggshells. The smoke matches the gray clouds over buildings with tongueless bells. Silent they stand as a lifeless skyline that does not care I exist. I recognize a single white flag as it blows in the wind. It is not yours, it is not mine, but it is ours. Or it was. No change of wind, no change of mind. Red flags fly, although winds change, white flags fly, they burn the same. Red flags fly in past tense, white flags fly in past tense. You and I are not our own. Red flags fly in past tense, white flags fly in past tense. You are the color of hope.

Well it comes and it goes again, now I have this hiss of nothingness. A reminder so meaningful and so meaningless. What can I say? What will you like? How can I get you to feel something from this? It dissolves the resolve, singing songs of someone else. Tinnitus lullaby, I’ve done this to myself. I have made peace with what’s in pieces. Peace and perfection, conceived inception, misled intention, misguided perception A tin ear can still hear. Silence is now a concept, attention span of a fart. I’ve taken you for granted, right down to an art. I have made peace with what’s in pieces. Peace and perfection, conceived inception, misled intention, misguided perception The way of the world feels like the weight of the world. No. A tin ear can still hear. I have made peace with what’s in pieces.
